You know you’ve been living in the Northeast for too long when the temperature dips into the 80s and you’re all like, Thank goodness the heatwave is over! The Busy-Lazy boys spent our day—like most of our Saturdays—at the gym. I had a fun morning workout with Chris G that involved sprints, burpees, pushups, and platform jumps—all in the pool! FTW!?! Meanwhile, busy daddy had morning yoga at the yoga studio, and then regular yoga with Fake Chris at the gym.

Later, the boy and I went for a dip in the pool, which by mid-day had become yet another cluster fudge of Too Many Kids. Despite the crowds, though, we had fun. Afterward, the boy and I played some tennis and squash before wrapping things up at the gym.

As we were leaving the squash court, the boy spied a handsome gentleman who bore an uncanny resemblance to will.i.am. The boy said to me, “If you’re a boy and you have dark brown skin, you’re automatically cool, right?” I said, Yes, of course. Then the boy said, “Especially if you have a mustache, then you are super-duper cool!” I said, Well, anyone with a mustache is cool in my book, but a black man with a mustache—forget about it. He’s just extra-super-duper awesome! And the boy said, “I know, right!?!”
